Innovation: the new cycle of the Piracicaba Technology Park
Pecege Institute assumes management betting on the creation of new businesses
Starting in 2026, the Pecege Institute will assume the management of the Piracicaba Technology Park (PTP). Its responsibilities will include the administration, operation, maintenance, and expansion of the park, in addition to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and science and technology activities. The choice was made by the city hall through a public tender that rigorously evaluated the proposals from different institutions.
With an area of 2.5 million m², it is part of the Paulista System of Technology Parks and houses 24 companies. Also located in the park are the Piracicaba Hub, educational institutions, and private innovation environments, such as Pecege. The new management model foresees a decentralized and autonomous governance, without dependence on public resources.
It will be quite a challenge, especially considering that one of Pecege’s goals is to transform the Piracicaba park into a national reference, in addition to creating new businesses. To discuss this undertaking, the presenter Soraia Fessel interviewed the CEO of Pecege, Daniel Sonoda, and the institute’s innovation manager, Pedro Chamochumbi.
About the interviewees
Daniel Sonoda is an agricultural engineer and CEO of the Pecege Institute.
Pedro Chamochumbi acts as an innovation manager, development agent, ESG, smart cities, and digital government. He is co-founder of AiX – Innovation Agency.
