Inside the company and off the radar: the risks of Shadow AI
According to Microsoft, 75% of professionals already use artificial intelligence at work without company approval
The use of generative artificial intelligence is already part of the corporate routine. Tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, and other platforms help professionals produce texts, analyze data, create presentations, and accelerate tasks in practically all sectors. But this advance has brought a growing challenge for companies: the so-called Shadow AI — when employees use AI solutions without the organization’s knowledge, control, or approval.
According to a Microsoft survey, 75% of professionals already use AI at work without official company approval. Although the technology represents gains in productivity and competitiveness, improper use can cause data leakage, exposure of strategic information, legal risks, and reputational damage.
To understand the impacts of this scenario and discuss paths for a safer adoption of artificial intelligence, the Revista Estratégias e Soluções, from Instituto Pecege, talks to cybersecurity specialist Pedro Cheganças, Sales Engineer at SEC4U Cybersecurity. It’s worth watching by clicking below!
