Pecege Identity – Episode 5: Haroldo Torres

“We were a group of university research and extension”

In celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the Pecege Institute, the Strategies and Solutions (E&S) Magazine brought together some of the voices that led this journey. The mission was to reconstruct the paths that gave rise to one of the largest ecosystems of education and innovation in the interior of São Paulo — today a reference in teaching, research, technology, and society.

This initiative also marks the launch of the documentary series “Inspiring Trajectories”, created by the magazine to tell the stories of people who transform their careers into legacies in the most diverse areas of knowledge. The first season, “Pecege Identity”, premiered on June 2nd on the magazine’s Youtube channel.

In episode 5, Haroldo Torres, partner at Pecege Consultoria e Projetos, recalls how his academic background in economics brought him closer to the institute, through the traditional extension groups at USP/Esalq. “We were a university research and extension group,” he recalls. While undergraduate students collected data, master’s and doctoral students were responsible for preparing the reports. “Our differential was confidentiality,” he analyzes.

In total, this season will have nine episodes, released bi-weekly. Click below and watch episode 5 now.
