Pecege Identity – Episode 7: Ricardo Shirota
President of the Pecege Institute swapped soil studies for rural economics
In celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the Pecege Institute, the Strategies and Solutions (E&S) Magazine gathered some of the voices that led the institution’s trajectory. The mission was to reconstruct the paths that gave rise to one of the largest education and innovation ecosystems in the interior of São Paulo — today a reference in teaching, research, technology, and society.
This initiative also marks the launch of the documentary series “Inspiring Trajectories”, created by the magazine to tell the stories of people who transform their careers into legacies in the most diverse areas of knowledge. The first season, “Pecege Identity”, premiered on June 2nd on the magazine’s Youtube channel.
In episode 7, professor Ricardo Shirota, president of the institute, tells how he started his career at USP/Esalq studying soils and ended up getting involved in economics. “The world is driven by economic incentives,” he said. This season will feature nine episodes, released every 15 days. Watch episode 7 now by clicking below.
