“Trajectories that inspire” series will tell how an extension group became a center of excellence in education and research

In the year 2025, Pecege completed 22 years. Since its foundation, the institute has led an inspiring story, about a project that began as a dream in “another life” and materialized into an ecosystem of education and innovation that connects teaching, research, technology, and society.

It started in 2003, with the creation of an extension group at USP/Esalq. “We didn’t have a model,” says Professor Pedro Marques, founder of Pecege. “We built [ours] as problems arose.”

The path was punctuated by doubts, course corrections, learnings, partnerships, mistakes, and successes. It involved many people and several stories. The Estratégias e Soluções (E&S) Magazine brought together the main characters of this plot to narrate this journey.
